Hi, I’m Brian (a.k.a. Professor Homunculus at MathMojo.com ).
Thanks for visiting. If you poke around here, you’ll find posts about some of my main passions, which are magic, math, and the mind, of course. (My greatest passions are my wife and my dogs, but they’ll have to get their own blogs! OK, they’ll be here, as well.)
I love to exchange Ideas about learning and thinking. My main websites are dedicated to helping people learn math in a way that helps math be useful in understanding their world. Too often math becomes a “subject in school” rather than a way to help you understand life. It shouldn’t be a tool to club you over the head if you don’t get good grades. Math should be more about studying the patterns of life that increase your appreciation for the universe, art, romance, and fun. (Imagine that!)
I usually use Twitter (I’m Prof_Homunculus) to notify people when I’ll be having a new event, like a free online math lesson, or a weird online magic experiment. If you haven’t signed up for Twitter, you should. It’s a great way of keeping in touch with people, and learning about new things.
I also publish the Math Mojo Monthly (“Comes out sporadically, mostly”) Newsletter, which gives the news and some lessons, from MathMojo.com. It’s for all ages, and is pretty eclectic. You can sign up for the Math Mojo Monthly here. It’s free, of course.
I hope to be communicating with you and sharing Ideas often.
Thanks for dropping by!
Brian
